With the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona ready to kick off tomorrow, its no surprise to hear that information on devices is coming in thick and fast. Samsung is no exception to the rule. Just this morning we gave you information on the Samsung Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Tab 2 making their entrance at tomorrow’s show.
Details already given include the tablet being 10.1-inches in size, possibly running on Android’s Honeycomb 3.0 OS, making it a key player against the likes of Motorola’s Xoom being released on the 24th February. In regards to the S2, Debbie here at OSM via Engadget, has reported on what was a leaked photo and specs of the S2. Consequently the photo has been removed but the text still remains.
What’s caught our eye following on from this, is of a rumored UK retailer by the name of Mobilefun.co.uk who have given not just a SIM free price for the S2 but a release date. As Pocketlint reported, if we are to believe this, the launch date will be that of the 4th March with a SIM free price of £549.
The S2 is expected to include a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen, with a overall thickness of 8.49mm, therefore making it an extremely slim model, dual-core 1.2GHz Samsung Orion processor, 1GB RAM, NFC for mobile payments, running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread although this could change to Honeycomb, HSPA + Bluetooth 3.0, 8 megapixel camera with LED flash and 1080p video recording, along with 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.
If its a tablet device that gets your vote, then although specifications are a little sparse, we can tell you that it might have a dual-core processor, 8 megapixel camera with HD video recording and a possible name change.
With just a little over 24 hours until the start of the MWC 2011 in Barcelona, we will have to see what’s announced?
Are you a Samsung fan? What are your expectations? Tell us is there something in particular that will sway you into getting either one or both of these devices?
