X-Factor’s Cher Lloyd Abused On Twitter: Hurtful Gypsy Jibes

Whilst social media and social networking is a powerful tool for businesses and brands, it also has a dark side to it as X-Factor contestant Cher Lloyd is now finding out after a torrent of abuse she has received in the form of Gypsy jibes.

This follows a TV series that has hit the UK called ‘My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding’, the program takes you through some of the lifestyles of the young women that are about to get married, then through the preparations and actual wedding. The series host recent episode has also taken its audience through the male side of things. According to New Magazine, Cher Lloyd has even been approached to star in a celebrity version of the show.

It’s no secret that Cher Lloyd has a gypsy background and that she did have an unpopular time at different points throughout her X-Factor adventure but how is it fair that people should poke fun at her background? Perhaps it’s through jealousy of her becoming a star in the making, rumor has it that she is currently working with Rihanna.

As reported by Stacey King over at, some of the tweets said “Shouldn’t you be preparing for your big fat gypsy wedding?” and ”Gypsy life expectancy is 50. That means we probably have another 33 years of Cher Lloyd.” The good thing about all of this is she has shown that she is a tough cookie, have a look at her response below.
