Verizon HTC Thunderbolt: Release Date & Price?

January 31, 2022 | Maddy Rowe

News for the much anticipated HTC Thunderbolt is still coming in waves. The 4G smartphone which seems to be one of a number of talked about devices at the present time, has had people questioning what the official specifications will be, release date, price and so on.

Reports have varied for the device, including a list of accessories which are on their way, only today Debbie has spoken about a leaked Best Buy screenshot listing the phone being available from them on Valentines Day. We have to point out that this is not concrete information, as the device’s name was not mentioned, but is due to a product code matching that of an HTC box already demonstrated as a hands-on! A subsequent launch date of 24 February has been spoken about, of which would tie in nicely with the Mobile World Congress due to take place a week before. Speculation has surrounded whether the smartphone would make an appearance whilst there. But today the emphasis is not just on the phone but of Verizon’s involvement.

As well as the big red soon to be releasing the iPhone on the 10 February, the HTC Thunderbolt will be the first to be powered on the 4G LTE network. Sourced initially from Droid-Life, Alan over at PR News has spoken of information suggesting that the handset incorporating Verizon will be making its debut also on the 24 February.

Along with this, a price has been unveiled for the phone on a two-year data plan, in fact you might be surprised to hear that the price will be $249.99, as well as news of a one-year HTC Thunderbolt deal equating to $329.99.

Just to give you a quick recap of specifications, you can expect to find a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen, 8 megapixel camera with HD video recording with the possibility of mobile hotspot and Skype video chat making their way onto the handset.

@Random I am dyin 4 this phone 2 & have been anxiously awaiting it's release since I started following it's leaks over 8 months ago. However, all sources have it out by the end of Q1, & my very reliable source says more likely btwn end of Feb & St. Pattys. If u can't wait that long and will settle 4 a an inferior iPhone then u don't really need 2 wait bcuz technology & a better device is obviously not that important 2 u.

I agonized over deciding to go with the iphone or the the 4G Thunderbolt. I have an incredible now and after careful consideration and research I am going with the Android its just a better phone in terms of quality, efficiency , bang for the buck and besides it's app development is catching up to iphone. And a larger screen at that. And really if your buying an iphone all your saying is you want to be in a class of people that think they have it all. But really Android is starting to kick some ass. Skype and video chat to boot, wifi hotspot sharing. Nice. Who has it all now? I'll stick with Android. Thunderbolt here I come.

  7. Stevo says:

I have only one comment, 4G LTE simultaneous voice and 12Mbps downloads, enough said, Verizon / HTC ThunderBolt wins…

  8. Jacqueline says:

So i am BB lover. Do you guys think i would love the HTC Thunderbolt?

    • Zach says:

A lot of people like bb because of the bb messenger. Android has a really cool app that is pretty similar to bb messenger. You should tryout Qik. It give you the same features across multiple platforms, but BB just pulled it from their market because they said it was too close to their product.

Pre-ordered the Thunderbolt last Sunday, told to come pick it up today, 2/14. Just got back from Best Buy - no phone! Totally feel like I got scammed. Best Buy and Verizon $ucK!

    • Guest says:

Uhm. That would be Best Buy that sucks. They are resellers of Verizon, and they are the ones who screwed up and told you it woud be available on a certain date. Best Buy sucks!
