Google Censorship Hits Instant Search For Torrents

Google is still growing and everybody’s favorite search engine has just applied a censorship on torrent sites. The ones that we can see have been affected are uTorrent, BitTorrent, RapidShare, and Ubuntu Torrent.

These sites haven’t been completely removed from Google; the censorship only applies to the Instant Search. The instant search is what helps you to find what you are looking for before searching. For example, if you were searching for ‘London Weather’ once you have types ‘Lon’ it is appearing in a drop down box and you can click it for a list of websites in relation to your chosen topic.

As Engadget’s Darren Murph rightly says, all of the above mentioned sites do not appear in the Instant search, try it for yourself; go to Google and start typing in one of the words. You see, not appearing, it also censors profanities.

The reasoning behind all of this is because the entertainment industry has requested it; they are trying to stamp out piracy but will that ever happen? You can read more about this over at as well as
