With the CES event of this year already been and gone, there appears to be plenty to look forward to in the coming months. News particularly of tablets and smartphones is rife on the internet at the moment and its not just Apple with their next generation iPad and iPhone 4 /5 that’s got us talking. There’s also Motorola’s Droid Bionic and Atrix smartphones running on Android waiting in the wings.
Debbie here at OSM has given us an insight into the specifications listing for both devices, as well as comparing the Droid to HTC’s Thunderbolt and Verizon’s iPhone 4. Today news has filtered through that may be about to dampen our thoughts in relation to Motorola’s offerings. The guys over at electronista.com have reported that the 2 handsets may be about to suffer launch delays, due to a huge power bug which potentially could overheat the devices causing booting, reception and power use issues.
According to a Motorola insider by the name of “xbernaut,” has said the problem is “unfixable,” therefore it could affect launch devices. At this stage with the introduction of NVIDIA’s Tegra 2, it is unclear whether this could be a contributing factor.
As with today’s news, it can only be taken as speculation and nothing more.
Will you be waiting for one of these two devices, if so which one. Tell us what has prompted you to make your decision?
UPDATED NEWS: We have just found a report from electronista.com that states the Motorola handsets will ship as scheduled, after a spokesperson from Motorola denied any overheating issues with either phone.
