Twitter Pays Tribute To Iconic British Actress “Susannah York”

Online social networking site Twitter, is today paying homage to one of Britain’s great actresses “Susannah York.” The star 72, who had been battling bone marrow cancer was reported to have passed away on the 15 January, to the sadness of those close to her as well as her adoring fans. An official statement was made today from her son. Following on from this, Twitter has been inundated with messages of sadness and tributes.

The star who will best be remembered for her film, TV and theatre roles began her career in the sixties with her first role in “Tunes of Glory,” and subsequently other parts followed including the film “They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?” which in 1969, won her a nomination for an Oscar and Golden Globe and soon afterwards a Bafta award.

Other films included that as reported the “Battle of Britain,” “A Man for All Seasons” amongst others and in 1978 some of you including me will remember her as the mum of “Superman” on the planet of Krypton. She leaves a son and daughter behind. The stated that her son “Orlando” has spoken out and said, “She loved nothing more than cooking a good Sunday roast and sitting around a fire of a winter’s evening. In some sense, she was quite a home girl. Both Sasha and I feel incredibly lucky to have her as a mother.”

Followers on Twitter have expressed their own thoughts by tweeting, “Susannah York dies at 72: Sometimes called the quintessential English rose, she was best known for her roles in Superman.” Another said, “Saddened to hear of the death of Susannah York, a lovely lady and a good actress.”

    why all this fuss its no more sadder than anyone else dying of course its sad for her loved ones but why make her out to be some kind of saint she admitted herself she has a vile temper
