Asian Cup 2011: AFC mobile app for football fans

The Asian Cup 2011 in Qatar is already underway and football fans around the world, and especially in Asia, are interested in what’s going on, results, match schedules and more. This is where the Asian Cup official sponsors have stepped in by releasing the AFC 2011 Samsung mobile app available from the Android Market.

The Android app can be used for the Galaxy Tab, Galaxy S, Wave 1 and II smart devices and will keep you up-to-date with everything you need to follow the Asian Cup so that you don’t have to miss a thing. Real-time statistics and information are refreshed every 20 seconds from the Player Tracking System. Performance information of players and teams is also available via the app, according to AMEInfo.com.

Apart from the Android Market this app is also available at the Samsung App Store and will give football fans exclusive content about the Asian Cup. It’s the first time that Samsung has released an app especially for a sporting event and should prove popular. If you want to know more about the Asian Cup go to the official AFC site here.

What are your thoughts on this app? Will you be heading to the Android Market to make your purchase? We’d like to hear your comments, including your predictions for the eventual winners of the Cup.

    Really Nice !
If you allow me, I would have liked them to add our social networking capabilities to this apps. Can be seen here http://www.teamblogger.eu and if the editor want to talk about it, just give us a call.
    Best regards,
