Apple iPad Mini: Picture Seen, Fake or Not?

With the Consumer Electronics Show fast approaching on the 6-9th January 2011, it’s no surprise that the internet is rife with news of upcoming phones and tablets. Over the last few weeks we have given you news of various devices possibly on their way, from the Verizon iPhone 5, Motorola‘s possible Android Honeycomb tablet, Acer tablets, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 2 and so on, but what seems to stand out from the rest, is news of the next generation iPad due for release in April.

But today, what has caught our eye from is what seems to be a photo of an “7-inch iPad Mini,” being showcased by Taiwan racing driver “Jimmy Lin.” This is also rumored to make an appearance at CES, the difficulty we have with this image, is being able to strongly classify if this is the real deal?

On looking at the photo, it seems to use the same interface as the bigger version, but with the image being at a distance, and as reporting, Apple’s main man “Steve Jobs” has already commented that a smaller version would be an “unnecessary exercise.”

Tell us what you think of the above image? If an iPad Mini did come to market, would it be of interest to you? Let us know.

I like the Apple iPad for the direction it has led innovation.

Netbooks are now readily available and seem to be trying to compete with Apple technology.

Will netbooks ever beat the Apple iPad?

There's already an iPad mini. It's called an iPhone.

Fake. The icons for the iPhone/iPod are the same size as the icons on the iPad, just closer together. The mini iPad in the picture has smaller app icons than the real iPad in the picture. It’s obviously been scaled down.
