As most of us are aware, Apple is set to release the Verizon iPhone sometime early in 2011 as Buzz Bizz News speculates, but rumors have started circulating over this and the release date of the much talked about iPhone 5.
This confusion has been put into place because of Apple breaking its own rules of not discounting current models; Beatweek said this in a report.
Through the Thanksgiving break Apple’s popular tablet device, the iPad was offered with a price reduction. Now while this was only a small gesture, the follow on from this has been with Apple seemingly allowing one retailer to knock 25-percent off its iPhone 4 with less than 6 months of production under its belt. The same retailer has also been selling the old iPhone 3GS at over 50-percent discount.
Now while this may just be Apple falling into line with normal manufacturers, or the fact that this retailer has taken it on its own back to reduce prices without the all clear, there are some that have other opinions.
One is that Apple wants all stock of their existing handset gone to make way for a new model, suggesting that the iPhone 5 is closer than we think. Could we be looking at a complete model overhaul to go with the Verizon iPhone release?
Obviously with Verizon customer champing at the bit to receive their iPhone devices, could a new model be a way of providing them with something that doesn’t feel like an AT&T hand-me-down. It has been said that there could be the possibility of a hybrid 4 capable of running either carrier, or even a separate iPhone 4 working with Verizon.
Whatever way you look at it there is a number of reasons and ideas as to Apples decisions. Why not give us your thoughts.
