UK Snow disruption: Online information, travel news, live updates

When heavy snowfalls first hit Britain a few weeks ago many of us may have thought we were now over the worst of the disruption but in the last day or so there has once again been major snow and major disruption along with it. If you want a few ideas for where you can find the latest travel news, weather information and live updates on the snow currently bringing the U.K. to a halt we can give you a few ideas.

For example if you want to check the latest travel information and schools (most now closed for the holidays), check out your local area BBC site by going here and clicking on your region. Or for the latest travel news regarding motorways and road closures head here. Many of you will already know about the BBC weather pages here, where you can find up-to-the-minute weather reports on how much more snow we can expect to see.

Alternatively for severe weather warning information head to the Met Office website here. Another really useful resource for checking out the snow disruption around the U.K. can be found over on Sky News. If you click on this page here, not only can you find the latest news reports on the weather but there’s also a live updates section which is one of the most useful we’ve seen. For example right now there are updates listed for news about flight delays and cancellations at Heathrow Airport via Twitter, along with Gatwick Airport and also National Rail enquiries.
