We’ve heard of many innovative uses of Twitter and campaigns are now becoming more and more creative so I wonder if you can guess how there might be a link between singer Engelbert Humperdinck and meningitis.
Well the answer is a Twitter campaign by The Meningitis Trust which uses a classic Humperdinck song, “Please Release Me” with new lyrics, now entitled “Please Retweet Me.” Charities are continually noting the impact of social media and online resources and The Meningitis Trust hopes that this new digital campaign will raise awareness of meningitis and also help people to recognize the symptoms, according to Rosie Baker over on Marketing Week.
The new campaign, created by Renegade Media, sees the lyrics of the famous song now including mentions of Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare and other digital media brands and you can read the full lyrics to “Please Retweet Me” at the link above. Meanwhile UTalk Marketing also tells us of a YouTube video of the song performed by the Drybrook Male Voice Choir and you can see that video below this story.
