There’s been a lot of excitement about the Dell Venue Pro, a Windows Phone 7 handset which has garnered a lot of positive attention. However recently we brought you news that although the phone should have been on its way to customers the release date had been put back to January, disappointing many people who hoped to get their hands on it before the holiday season.
Now we are hearing news of another Dell phone on the way, this time simply called the Dell Venue and this handset will be running Android 2.2. The Dell Venue is to be released in South Korea by the end of this month, according to KT its carrier, at a cost of 700,000 KRW, that’s around $600. Vlad Savov over on Engadget, sourced from KT, informs us that this is a hotly-anticipated device and hopefully the South Korean launch means it’s release in the U.S. will be coming soon.
You may have heard of the Dell Venue under its previous codename Thunder, and other details known so far about this Android device are that it has a whopping 4.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen with curved Gorilla Glass screen. Gary Cutlack over on Gizmodo also notes that this device will not have the QWERTY keyboard as on the Dell Venue Pro but that otherwise the layout of buttons and the shape are very much like the Dell Venue Pro.
What are your thoughts on the Dell Venue? We’d be interested to hear your views so please do send in your comments about this new Android device?
