iPad Release New “Audi A8 Experience” App

As the world of apps grows it seems that you are able to get any service or information covered by a downloadable application. Whether it’s from the simple entertainment of an Angry Bird app, to the best way to prepare your Thanksgiving dinner from a recipe app. Whatever you need you can obtain through either iTunes App Store, Android or the new Windows Phone 7 Marketplace.

Car manufacturers have realized the quickly expanding market and have recognized a place for themselves within it. We have seen automotive apps from the likes of Ford, used as sales brochures for their models, and also the introduction of iPad integration within the vehicles.

Audi has used Apple’s iPad to release their “Audi A8 Experience” app at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Azfamily say that the app is set to give potential buyers a taste of it’s latest luxury sedan.

Features of the “Experience” allow virtual ‘test drives’ where customers can touch upon the multitude of technological extras crammed into the high-end saloon. As a free download the app will show off things like the pedestrian motion detection, 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen entertainment and Audi’s highly accomplished AWD system. Users will also be able to gain a demo of Audi’s night vision assist and be given an insight into parts of the Audi’s hidden extras that you just wouldn’t see from your average showroom experience.

Apps like this will shape the way in which we purchase new cars. Before you even get to the showroom you will have been able to get more information about your potential purchase before you even step into a dealership. This poses the question; will we ever need to leave our house to buy a new car? Let us know if you’d be happy to part with you’re hard earned cash without even stepping inside your vehicle?
