Facebook Traffic Data 2010: Massive Increase

According to comScore who has provided data to Mashable, Facebook’s traffic has grown by around 55% within the last year in the US. Today Facebook has over 500 million users with around half of them using the site daily, 1 in every 6 WebPages searched is a Facebook page. So why has there been such a massive increase in the traffic?

Facebook has done extremely well fighting off the competition such as MySpace and has now become the big fish in a little pond, I believe that the reason it has had such a steep increase is because it doesn’t really have any competitors.

Nobody offers anything ‘better’ than Facebook. Although I do have some frustrations with it like constantly seeing people’s soppy updates or the classic… ‘At work’ why does everybody need to know that? It’s an instant friendship removal for me!

Head over to where they have provided the stats of the research. The big question for me is, can any body offer a service that is better than Facebook? Could there be a new competitor on the horizon? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
