Palm CEO: Plans for WebOS in 2011

Jon Rubinstein the CEO of Palm is very aware of the mistakes that the company have made when it comes to smartphones, hence why that part was bought by HP, but he has been much more optimistic with the plans for the WebOS for 2011.

HP’s previous claims that there would be printers working on the WebOS 2.0 were not expanded upon but what Jon is saying is that HP could perhaps move away from the Windows Phone 7 that the Slate works on for the WebOS. Why would they want to do that? To save money of course!

If HP were to move away from the Windows version then they would avoid the pricey licensing imposed by Microsoft. He also says that the device would run faster. If this is of interest to you then head over to where Desire Athow has written an article and also included the interview that Jon Rubinstein made.
