AT&T Slash BlackBerry Torch Price By 50%

Recently here at OSM we have reported on one of RIM’s latest smartphone offering’s the BlackBerry Torch 9800. It was only 2 days ago that carrier AT&T gave us news that they would be releasing the handset in two other colours red and white, and then yesterday we gave you details on how to win yourself a Torch by entering a competition through BGR.

Today, AT&T have cut their Torch price in half! Yes, you did hear that correctly, the price has been knocked down from $199.99 to $99.99 with a two-year contract. Zach Epstein at BGR has commented that speculation has already started with some analysts suggesting that the price cut is due to poor sales of the Torch. Ok, now it might not be perhaps flying out of shop windows according to some analysts, but AT&T are hoping that the price reduction will appeal to consumers in time for the holiday season.

The Torch comes with some fantastic features such as touch screen, QWERTY keypad, BlackBerry 6 OS which is a big deal, accessibility to social networking sites, 5MP camera, WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1.

Are you looking to get yourself a new mobile handset, but do not want to pay the earth before Christmas? Let us know. To find out more log onto BGR.
