Google CEO & Avatar Director hold enviromental event

The CEO of Google Eric Schmidt and legendary film director James Cameron both had a long on stage conversation last night at a private event in Silicon Valley. The main body of the chat was about environmental issues and of course the Avatar 2 movie.

Cameron who has directed movie masterpieces such as Terminator, Titanic and Avatar; was quizzed by Schmidt on why he is so involved in ecology and the well being of our environment. “The planet we bequeath to our children and our grandchildren will be in significant danger, if we don’t take control over our stewardship of our planet”. Cameron then went on to say that he feared 70% of species will be extinct by the end of this century if we do nothing, due to the rise of world temperatures. You can see more of what both men had to say by visiting Mashable.

In Cameron’s latest and most expensive movie Avatar, the central theme of the film is actually about nature. How man is bulldozing its way through the rain forests to take all of the resources and minerals for its own greedy gain. If you heard that before watching the film then you would probably not be that bothered about seeing it; however the film was told so well that it has been dubbed by some as the greatest film of all time. It is currently the highest grossing film ever made and its sequel is being tipped to knock it off that spot.

Cameron has confirmed that Avatar would be a trilogy and that the sequel to the most expensive film ever would be released in 2014. When asked by Schmidt on plot details he replied by asking for Google’s source code. We do know that the film is going to focus on the oceans of Pandora this time around and that the return of the human threat is likely. All there is left to really say is… Only 4 more years to go.
