Sony PSP2 Update: Touchpad and HD Display

For fans of the gaming console, you may already be aware of speculation surrounding a new PSP2 that is currently on the horizon.

Back in September at the annual Tokyo Game Show, it was hoped that this latest concept from Sony would be unveiled along with details. Although this console did not make a main appearance during the event, some lucky developers were able to get a small insight from Sony. Gaming reviewers “Kotaku” have managed to find out some more details regarding the PSP2. Indications show that the new console will incorporate a sharper display being an inch larger than that of the current handheld PSP, as well as high definition resolution being noted.

Tim Stevens at Engadget reported that presently, developers Sony are looking into the internal hardware to avoid problems of overheating before its subsequent launch in the autumn of 2011. The timing of this may well be advantageous as the 2011 E3 is due to take place. As you may remember, its predecessor the PSP was initially showcased here some eight years earlier. At this moment in time, all details are only speculation and not confirmed.

As and when we get more information we will give you an update. Give us your thoughts on a new PSP2 and let us know what you would like to see? For more details log onto Engadget.
