Netflix Disc-Free Streaming For PS3 and Wii

Netflix, a streaming service designed for users to watch movies and TV shows has now just announced its disc-free for the Wii and PlayStation 3. Not only will this be accessible for America but for Canada as well. For a subscription fee of $8.99 or (C$7.99) in Canada, you will be able to download and install Netflix from the Wii Shop Channel.

Indications show that to date, some three million Nintendo Wii consoles are already connected with Netflix since its arrival in April of this year. So what will happen to all those redundant discs? It seems that the current discs used for instant streaming will no longer be needed. Interested? Then you will just need a Wii console, the above subscription and broadband Internet connection for the movies and TV shows to be streamed direct onto the TV set. Vlad at Engadget reported that, you will benefit from now being able to install Netflix on the Wii menu at no extra cost.

Reggie Fils-Aime, President of Nintendo America has said, “At this time of year, consumers have a near-insatiable demand for family entertainment, and this simplified Netflix access will help bring families together more quickly, more easily and in more ways than ever before. More than 3 million Wii systems have already connected to Netflix, demonstrating how easy the service is to set up and use.”
