Skype Android App: Verizon Limitations Removed

For users wishing to save money by keeping in touch via Skype, good news is here. Skype-to-Skype calls and free sending or receiving IMs is now available through a wide range of Android devices.

Full information can be found on Skype providing that you have Android OS 2.1 or above, just log on via your device and download the app. There is also the option to call through Wi-Fi, when you are in a Wi-Fi zone with no charge or use 3G. If you’re abroad, it is advisable to connect to a Wi-Fi area for the best call costs, either that or dial the number in Skype and use Skype Credit.

Those that already have Skype on their computers, once you have signed up through your Android phone you can see your entire contact list. But don’t worry if you haven’t, as you can set up an account in a matter of minutes. As of yet, Skype is not available for the markets in China or Japan, and there have been problems with users to the Galaxy S, but these issues are being looked into.

Check out Skype if you are unsure whether your phone is running the correct version. Tell us if you use Skype and what advantages you have found.
