Twitter: The weeks top 10 trends

This week in the top 10 Twitter trends we have a bit of a mix up in the chart, as we see most of last weeks entries retaining their places in the chart but all with major positioning differences. We also see a few new entries which have been some of the hottest talking topics of the week, with the chart being courtesy of Mashable.

Due to Twitter’s massive announcement that they will be introducing a redesigned interface on the web and releasing its new features to users in the next few weeks, the microblogging service takes this weeks place at number 1. Twitter has been in the chart for 3 weeks now and has risen up from 2nd last week to claim its title as the hottest Twitter topic of the week.

This weeks runner up is… guess who? Yes it’s the little pop star Justin Bieber who’s place in the chart is just as safer bet as the sun rising tomorrow morning. In at number 3 is the TV show Glee as Britney Spears appeared in the most recent episode which had been long awaited.

Bishop Eddie Long is still in the chart this week after controversial pedophilia claims; this week the church leader is at number 4 after climbing up from number 7 last week. Number 5 this week is Research in Motion (RIM) after they announced they are bringing out a tablet computer to compete with Apple’s iPad. The NFL keeps it place in the chart this week at number 6.

Comedian Greg Giraldo is your number 7 this week as unfortunately he passed away on September 29th after an accidental drug overdose aged 44. Last weeks number 1 Football/Soccer has fallen to number 8 in the chart with October or Fall taking the number 9 spot this week. Your final entry this week is actress Romina Yan who also tragically died this week from a heart attack aged 36.
