Facebook staff take the day off to see “The Social Network”

With the Social Network movie being released in the U.S yesterday it seems almost the whole Facebook Company except Mr. Zuckerberg hired out the Century Cinemas 16 in Mountain View, California to see a showing of the new film. At least 1,200 employees took the afternoon off work to go and see the hyped up film, most probably also hoping to catch a glimpse of themselves or a mention of their name at some point.

Plenty of the Facebook employees announced on their own Facebook pages that they would be attending the showing and then also afterward visiting some Palo Alto-area bars for post-movie discussion according to Mashable. Mark Zuckerberg has reiterated that he has no interest in seeing the film and so is not expected to be joining his massive team. It was rumored he attended a pre-screening two weeks ago in Seattle although this has not been confirmed.

Jesse Eisenberg who portrays Zuckerberg in the movie revealed recently that his cousin has got a job working at Facebook and the CEO approached him and said: “I think your cousin is playing me in a movie; that’s really cool.” I have no doubts Mark will watch the movie at some point. The “Social Network” comes out in the U.K on October 14th so we have another 2 weeks to wait; personally I can’t wait!

Have you been to see the film yet? If so then leave us your comments on what you thought of it.
