Greg Giraldo Death: Tributes Pour in on Twitter

Ever since the news broke of Greg Giraldo’s death recently, the tributes have been pouring in. The popular micro-blogging website Twitter has been inundated with people paying their condolences to Greg, who died on Wednesday at the age of 44.

As reported by Gil Kaufman at mtv.com, stars such as Lisa Lampanelli, David Hasselhoff, Aziz Ansari and Jimmy Kimmel all took to Twitter to pay tribute to Giraldo, who was best known for his insult comedy and as an expert roaster on Comedy Central’s annual roasts.

Dane Cook’s tweet read: “Greg Giraldo may you RIP. My thoughts & prayers go to his family, friends & fans.” Meanwhile, Patton Oswalt wrote: “Really, Universe? Greg Giraldo?” Bob Saget also posted his tribute: “Greg Giraldo. Love and peace. So f—ing funny.”

It wasn’t just Twitter that people were leaving messages of condolences on either. Giraldo’s Facebook page was also inundated with comments from his fans and fellow comedians. Comedy Central released a statement, which said the tragic news had hit them very, very hard.
