Once upon a time, there was a free and wild digital music service called Napster but over time it developed into a legal subscription service and only a year ago, Napster insisted it had no plans for the release of an iPhone or any other mobile app. However, it seems in order to keep up with the competition Napster has had a change of heart.
The news comes today that Napster is now available for iOS devices so you can now enjoy everything it has to offer on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad with the app available now from iTunes, according to Stan Schroeder over on Mashable, sourced from Engadget.
For a $10 monthly subscription, users will have access to 10 million songs and you can still enjoy them offline when you’re not connected and listen while you’re running other apps. All this is as long as you continue to pay your monthly subscription. Users can also make their own playlists, find all the new releases, get recommendations and even access Billboard Charts going right back to 1955 as well as saving the last 100 songs played to be able to replay favourites easily.
