50 Cent: Twitter Comments Anger GLAAD

American rapper and actor 50 Cent appears to be causing a stir with everyone at the moment. It wasn’t that long ago that he had his Twitpic account blocked after posting obscene tweets, and now it appears his recent Twitter comments have angered GLAAD.

According to entertainment.msn.co.nz, the rapper – who recently announced on Twitter that he had become engaged – posted a rather threatening message to celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, accompanied by a photo of two men being chased by an angry mob.

The message read: “Perez Hilton calld [sic] me a douchebag so I had my homie shoot up a gay wedding. Wasn’t his but still made me feel better.” As expected, the comment prompted the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) to issue a response.

“It’s wrong to make jokes and promote violence against the gay community,” GLAAD spokesman Rich Ferraro said about the tweet. Rich said that removing the post isn’t enough, as they also want the rapper to tell his followers that what he did was wrong.
