Twitter had a bit of a shakeup this week with some regular and new trends appearing in the top 10 chart. At the summit is the NCAA, after the American college football season started this week. Due to the massive popularity of Football in the U.S, the NCAA was bound to be at the top of the chart due to a flooding of Tweets from fans.
Second on the official list was a familiar name that we see up there week in week out. Yes Mr. Bieber is up there again after his loyal fan base took the time to follow and support him, with this week’s follower number reaching around 5 million, according to Mashable. It has been reported that Justin Bieber has around 3% of the entire Twitter servers dedicated just to him at any one time! We have an article about this which can be found using the link above.
In 3rd place is Google, which has been one of the week’s biggest talking points with speedy new search engine tool Google Instant. It was also Google’s birthday. We also have featured articles on Google Instant, which can also be found by using the link we have provided for you.
In at 4th is Rosh Hashanah, which is a Jewish holiday that began on Thursday and Ramadhan/Eid is at number 5. This Tweet was to signal the end of Ramadan which is celebrated by Muslims. At number 6 we have pop star Selena Gomez and at 7 is video game Duke Nukem.
The 8th top trend is the Camp Rock 2 movie which features the Jonas Brothers and at 9 is Pop Diva Beyonce who celebrated her 29th Birthday this week.
