X Factor 2010: Fans Take to Twitter to Express Disappointment

As many of you will be aware, ITV1’s popular reality TV series “The X Factor” returned to our television screens last night (Saturday, August 21st) for the start of its seventh season. However, it appears that many fans were left feeling rather disappointed after last night’s episode.

As reported by dailymail.co.uk, thousands of people tuned in to watch last night’s premiere and once it had aired; fans began taking to Twitter to express their disappointment with many suggesting that the “auto-tune technology” had been used during several of the performances.

Viewers claimed that the auto-tune had been used on Zimbabwean singer Gamu Nhengu – who sung her own version of “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves – and G & S singer Caroline. They also suggested that the same technology may have been used on Shirlena Johnson.

One fan took to Twitter and posted a message saying that although they love the show, they don’t like the way they just autotune the mic without people realizing. Another viewer’s Twitter message read: “OMG X Factor have autotuned mics turned on its such a shame.”
