iPhone 4.0.2 Jailbreak: 3G not fourth-generation

Apple released update 4.0.2 to stop users being able to jailbreak iOS 4, but we hear that jailbreakers have been able to get around this latest update already. So we now know that iPhone 4.0.2 has already been jailbroken, but it only works on the 3G iPhone and not the fourth-generation.

Apple had released the update to put a stop to the PDF exploit from JailbreakMe, which could be done on the 3G, 3GS and the iPhone 4, as well as the iPad and iPod Touch.

Redmond Pie has a step-by-step guide on how to Jailbreak iOS 4.0.2 with Redsn0w, there are seven simple steps to follow. The first and simple step is to download the new iPhone OS 4.0.2 update.

Please remember that you jailbreak your iPhone at your own risk, as this could affect how your handset works. Always make certain that you back your phone up before attempting a jailbreak.
