Comic-Con 2010: Smallville Q&A Session

There were so many treats in store for fans who attended the San Diego Comic-Con 2010 event this past weekend. Not only were there movie trailers for upcoming films, but also Q&A sessions for TV shows such as the hugely popular CW superhero series “Smallville.”

As reported by Jean Guerrero at wsj.com, the “Smallville” panel not only answered questions from the crowd on Sunday, but they also treated fans to a sneak peek at the upcoming tenth and final season of the show – which will begin airing as from September 2010 on The CW.

The show will actually reach its 200th episode this year, making it the longest-running sci-fi series on television. Yesterday’s exclusive footage included a glimpse at the new, but traditional, blue-and-red Superman suit, which replaces the previous black and silver outfit.

“I make the new suit look fantastic,” actor and director Tom Welling said with a grin on his face. The cast members and show producers that appeared on the panel included Erica Durance (Lois Lane) and John Schneider, who played Clark’s dad John Kent.

When asked about the training for action sequences, Erica Durance said that she often just “falls into” the correct positions because of her clumsiness. When asked about the show’s funniest scenes, Schneider said it was when Tom Welling couldn’t say the word “macramé.”

Welling then admitted that his favorite scene of the series was getting to work with Christopher Reeve – who also played Superman in the movies – when he made a special guest appearance on the show in season 2. You can read the full story via wsj.com.
