As we reported earlier today on the preview of the new 2011 Ford Explorer, it has given consumers the chance to take a sneaky look at the vehicle before it’s unveiling on the network site Facebook. This has given Ford the opportunity to show their product off to consumers with the help of social media.
According to Debbie Turner at ONLY KENT, the video was posted early this morning on the Ford Explorer Facebook page showing the new vehicle in it’s finest. During the course of today, the new Explorer was highly publicised by unveiling it on the NBC’s “Today” program and chats for the Ford President and CEO Alan Mullaly.
As well as this, Ford will be holding events in cities all over the U.S. including New York, Chicago and Venice Beach. Ford have realised with Facebook’s 500 million users signing onto the networking site, will put them on a good platform for advertising.
What do you think about Ford advertising their new model on Facebook? Will it make more of an impact than perhaps an automotive website? To read more about this check out the link above.
