Droid X Battery Life: Top tip

The highly-anticipated Motorola Droid X smartphone was finally released very recently, and it’s proved to be a hit in the US. While the Droid X may have some excellent features such as a 1GHz processor, an 8-megapixel camera and Wi-Fi hotspot, these can drain your battery.

As reported by Shiva Remala at znews24.com, although Motorola boasts a good battery life on their handsets, many of the high-end features of the Droid X can just kill the battery life in no time. One of them – the Wi-Fi hotspot – is said to be the worst for sucking up your battery life.

The fully functional Wi-Fi hotspot on the Droid X means that you can actually use your mobile, as a modem/router to connect to your laptop or desktop PC. With the Droid X having a 3G network, the data speed wouldn’t be all that bad either.

However, you might want to think again before you use this particular feature on the Droid X handset, as it will take its toll on the battery. It’s not just the Droid X either – almost all smartphones with Wi-Fi hotspot functionality will suffer with the battery going down quite quickly.
