Twitter China: Unexplained glitches and government crackdown

Twitter worked hard to get into the Chinese market, but now a series of unexplained glitches on the micro-blogging could lead to a government crackdown. The troubles first started over the weekend when users were unable to access Twitter on Sohu.com; then on Monday a “beta” icon appeared.

Now this evening there have been a number of other glitches – all of which looks set to be investigated by the Chinese government. As you can imagine Twitter users now fear that service to the micro-blogging website could be suspended until further notice.
