Facebook Locations Features Any Day Now

It seems we may be seeing location-based features on Facebook any day now, for users and brands. It will give users the ability to check in at different places, including shops and restaurants and this is bound to be worrying for other location-based services such as Foursquare and Gowalla.

An article from, from Advertising Age, reports that the smaller services will have a mammoth task against competition from Facebook in this sphere as Facebook have such a huge userbase to bring location-sharing features to.

It will also add to concerns over privacy issues once again as many people are unsure of how they risk sharing their information to the public. It appears the first big brand to take advantage of the new Facebook initiative is McDonalds. User will be able to check in at McDonalds restaurants and display food items in their posts. There will surely be a stream of further big brands eager to get in on the action.
