New Sports Social Media Site: Europe

Recently a new website has been set-up called SportPost, this site is apparently the first sport-specific social media site in Europe, the site launched today and looks pretty promising, you can check it out yourself here.

The main reason people will use SportPost is because it allows one central location to pull in blogs, debates and videos from many different sites, allowing you to ‘share your sport with the world’.

The company has landed some pretty good exclusive deals, these deals allow the site to publish personal blogs from pretty well known athletes, so far they have secured deals with West Ham striker Carlton Cole, jockey Tony McCoy and England rugby international James Haskell, I would imagine if the site takes off bigger names would become interested.

It is thought that the site will mainly appeal to people between the age of 18-40, the website’s managing director Peter Janes feels that “To date, fans have been on the sidelines looking in”, however SportPost allows fans to have a voice.

Have you used SportPost? If so, tell us what you think so far in the comments section below.
