When it comes to the month of March and basketball, it’s often referred to as March Madness. And for basketball fans, keeping up with all aspects of the 2010 NCAA Tournament is a definite must. So a guide to all things college basketball on the social web would come in handy.

According to a report at mashable.com, a recent survey has revealed that this year, more Americans are going to be turning to the Internet and social media in particular, to get their NCAA fix. Although TV comes out on top, many said that they would catch the action live online.

Facebook is one destination that’s popular with NCAA fans. Not only can you catch up on the latest news, but you can also get all your basketball-loving mates involved as well. The Official NCAA Basketball Facebook fan page will allow you to connect with thousands of other fans.

Citizen Sports also offers a free companion app for the iPhone and iPod Touch, with customizable push notifications for all your favorite teams. Some other mobile options include the 99 cent Pocket Bracket app for the iPhone and Android devices and the Baseline Fan apps.

Twitter is another way to keep up to date with all the latest news on the NCAA. The main NCAA Twitter account offers all sorts of official news from the world of college sports, but if it’s just NCAA news in particular you’re looking for, then the Twitter basketball account is good.
