It has been confirmed that Facebook is officially the most visited website in the US, overtaking rivals such as Google in the process. This will be a blow to Google, who previously held the number one website position for three years in a row.
As reported from V3, early figures published at the start of the week, concluded that the social networking website accounted for 7.07 per cent of web visits, compared with Google, who only managed 7.03 per cent for their search engine.
What is even more significant, is that web visits to Facebook have increased by a whopping 185 per cent last week, when compared with the same week in 2009.
It is quite funny to think that Facebook’s main competitor was seen as MySpace a few years ago, but now Twitter looks like the only main rival for Facebook.
