Later today, Sunday September 12, the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards takes place airing at 9:00 pm ET and it’s one of the most popular awards shows of the year. Who could forget the events of last year when Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech to say that Beyonce should have won the award. Apparently both West and Swift are appearing at tonight’s event and many will be avidly waiting to see what might happen.
Apart from that a lot of the action will surround Lady Gaga and floppy-haired youth Justin Bieber who both seem to dominate the scene at the moment. Now we hear there’s a great new app out specifically for the big awards show later this evening, the MTV VMA Twitter Tracker. An article over on Mashable by Samuel Axon tells us that this new app is even better than the app that accompanied the 2010 MTV Movie Awards recently.
The VMA app shows at first glance the top 4 trending topics and from a closer look it’s apparent that it’s easy to find your way around and that the design and features are very impressive. The top 50 topics can be clicked along the top which even indicates the amount of tweets per minute that the subject is receiving.
