Which blockbuster movie won the social media buzz game?

Falcon Social, a leading enterprise social media management platform, took a look to see if social media marketing could lead to box office success. So, which blockbuster movie won the social media buzz game?

They pitted six summer blockbusters against each other, and measured the number of times they have been mentioned across the web, as well as the owned media on their Facebook pages.

The movies selected were: Tomorrowland (released May 22nd is the US), Terminator Genisys (July 1st), Jurassic World (June 12th), Inside Out (June 19th), Minions (July 10th) and Magic Mike XXL (July 1st).

If you look at the figures above you will see the top social media buzz comes from the Minions, they have a staggering 31.6 million Facebook fans. There are 2.04 million Magic Mike XXL fans following Facebook and in third is Terminator Genisys with 1.4m. Minions also came up tops with 23K mentions with Jurrasic World coming in second with 21k.
