Building a story around your brand can be tricky when you only have one page to cover a wide variety of audiences and topics. So how about the newly announced Google Plus Collections?
Google Plus Collections lets you group posts by topic so you can get the right content to the right viewers more easily. Your fans/followers can choose to follow all of your collections or just the ones that match their interests.
Maybe you need a little inspiration! Check out how these brands below have already used collections to tailor their content to different subjects.
If you take ‘BuzzFeed’s’ Google+ Collections for example they have four section, these are named LOL, BuzzMemes, Cute or Not and BuzzFeed Quizzes. Next up is ‘Brit + Co’ who have seven collections, these include DIY Ideas, Home Sweet Home, Let’s Party, Recipes, Geeking Out, Beauty and Style Inspo.
Another example is ‘Innova Disc Golf’; these have nine Google Plus Collections, ranging from Disc Golf Courses to Distant Drivers.
When you visit your Google+ you will notice ‘Collections’ in the tabs now. Just click on the ‘Collections’ tab and you will see plenty of information about the new Google feature. This is all about Create / Get Found / Customise - Go ahead and create your very own Collection right now, then choose if you want public or not.
