UK Facebook users will be reminded tomorrow about the ‘National Voter Registration Day’. The UK General Election this year is less than 100 days away. The reminder will also let you know you will need to be registered to be able to vote in the election on 7th May 2015.
The Facebook vote reminder will come with a little message with two option buttons, button one will allow you to register, and the other lets you share the reminder.
This message is to remind all users in the UK to register to vote have been put into place to get a bigger turnout for the General Election. This message will be seen by around 35 million people, and is said to be one of the largest voter registration campaigns to day in the UK.
17-year-olds turning 18 just before the General Election with be targeted by the Facebook Voter campaign, this is a sure way to get more young people voting. The national voter registration is an Electoral Commission and Facebook joint proposal.
Alex Robertson, director of communications at the Electoral Commission has mentioned that this new Facebook voting tool in very important for encouraging young people to vote.
