Suzuki recall on Celerio for faulty brakes

Suzuki has halted sales of the Celerio city car as well as making a recall announcement; the recall campaign has already begun in UK, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia after tests found faults with the brakes.

A brake failure occurred in a test at Millbrook Proving Ground, and since this happened the sales of the Suzuki Celerio has been stopped.

The problem occurred when doing an emergency brake test at 80mph, and after conducting the same test multiple times as part of a full test procedure carried out by What Car? and Autocar magazines the recall had to be made.

It is a shame really because the Suzuki Celerio only went on sale February 1st, the recall was issued after relating to retraction of the brake pedal. The recall affects Right Hand Drive models for UK, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia, it does NOT affect left hand drive vehicles or other right hand drive markets.

Suzuki has taken to Twitter to let its followers know of the recall, the one below is for those in the UK.
