At Cairo international airport this morning two explosive devices were found, with another explosive going off in a very busy Square in central Cairo.
Security sources reported two explosive devices were found at Cairo International Airport today (Tuesday 3), prompting authorities to step up its security measures.
The improvised bomb that went off in a busy Square in downtown Cairo today has reportedly left two people lightly wounded according to Reuters. The IED after investigations was put into an electricity booth, where the blast of the explosion blew out some shops glass windows.
Eyewitnesses according to social media said the blast could be heard throughout downtown Cairo. Last week, Islamic State’s Egyptian affiliate started coordinated attacks in the Sinai Peninsula, which killed over 30 security personnel.
No arrests have been made at this point after the bombs were found at Cairo International Airport, video footage is being watched to catch the culprits.
