Tesco recall on Apple & Blackcurrant Juice lights up Twitter

Tesco’s Twitter has lit up since they made a recall on its 750 ml and 1.5Ltr ‘No added Sugar Double Strength Apple and Blackcurrant Squash’ drinks, affected batches include BBE Oct 2015 / L003 and L016 (All time codes).

Reports first started to show up online after customers’ of the juice drink complained it smelled funny, it turns out customers contacted Tesco’s of the funny odour and it was then they decided to do a recall on the product.

Both 750ml and 1.5 L bottles have now been pulled from its website, it has also been withdrawn from Tesco stores.

Tesco has said customers’ should not drink the product and return it to the stores for a full refund, not receipt is needed for full refunds. All they need to do is take the bottle/s back their local Tesco Customer Service desk.

After looking at all the tweets coming in fast on Tesco’s tweets / replies page we saw one tweet from @Tesco saying, “We are withdrawing the above products as our supplier has identified an unacceptable aroma in limited batch codes”, and “The product contains dimethyl disulphide its an ingredient normally used in savoury products to impact garlic odour.”
