Australia Day fireworks and the fifth tri-series One-Day International cricket game between Australia and India were cancelled due to rain.
The One-Day International tri-series in Sydney was officially stopped after 8pm AEDT, where there were just 16 overs of play were possible.
India got to 69 for 2 and then this is when the rain poured down, and this is when the game was abandoned. The toss was won by Australia and they chose to field and let India play, Ambati Rayudu was removed for 23 when the weather hit, and Shikhar Dhawan for eight.
The not out batsman when the game got called off was Virat Kohli (3) and Ajinkya Rahane (28). Now India is on the way to Perth with after the Carlton Mid ODI Tri-Series match against Australia in Sydney was rained out.
Over on the official cricket.com.au @CricketAus Twitter account you will see they have recently tweeted the Australia v India game being cancelled. But to bring a little fun back on Australia Day 2015 another tweet was added where you can see the general public playing backyard cricket.
