Selma in celebration of MLK 2015 day

On January Monday 19 millions will be celebrating Martin Luther King Day, and in celebration students will be able to see the new Selma movie for free.

Selma in celebration of MLK 2015 day over on Facebook and Twitter is getting the heart pumping, especially when it comes to the Oscar nominations. The world went crazy when they heard Selma is only being nominated for two Academy Awards, which are Original Song and Best Picture.

Twitter went crazy when the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite, where tweets were coming in complaining of the Oscars nominess are mainly white.

In light of the above, the official Selma Movie Facebook and Twitter pages are celebrating the movie and of course Martin Luther King Jr.

Yesterday was MLK’s birthday and to celebrate the movie and king the hashtag #‎SelmaForStudents over on the Facebook page was put into place. 7th, 8th & 9th graders will be able to see the Selma movie for free.

Students will be able to watch Selma for free if they have a valid student ID, in celebration of the movie and MLK they will be able to watch the film on Martin Luther King Day January 19th, Monday.

Selma is a great movie starring David Oyelowo as King, and goes into great detail about the civil rights leader’s life and the 1965 protests in Selma, Alabama.
