Both Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso have shared their F1 delight on Facebook and Twitter, the new era of McLaren-Honda now have both drivers for the 2015 F1 grid.
If you visit Jenson Button’s Facebook and Twitter and Alonso’s Facebook and Twitter you will see they have shared the great news. Button even tweeted, “Just woken up, what’s going on?!” This tweet alone has had 3.7K retweets and been favorited 5.2K.
I am personally over the moon Jenson Button is returning to Formula One for another year, everyone was so worried if the ambassador of F1 was staying or going. Now we can all breathe a sigh of relief as he enters his 16th season.
Button will be driving next to Fernando Alonso at McLaren next year, two amazing drivers and in my eyes the F1 dream team. Kevin Magnussen will stay with McLaren as reserve and test driver, good to see Magnussen still has a job – Happy days.
McLaren already signed Alonso many weeks ago, but it was not sure who his teammate was going to be. Fernando Alonso 33 has had 2 world titles, 236 races with 32 wins and 97 podium finishes. Jenson Button 34 has had 1 world title, 268 races with 15 wins and 50 podium finishes.
The 2015 F1 grid stands at: Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg for Mercedes, Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat for Red Bull, Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas for Williams, Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen will be racing with Ferrari, Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button McLaren, Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez Force India, Toro Rosso’s drivers will be Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz Jr, Lotus will have Pastor Maldonado and Romain Grosjean and Felipe Nasr and Marcus Ericsson for Sauber.
