Google Drive update for Gmail Office document editing

The new Google Drive update will allow Gmail users the ability to edit Microsoft Office documents, and they can do this without departing the firms email service.

In short terms, after Gmail users receive an attachment all they need to do is click on the “Edit” button, and then they can edit the Microsoft Office document simply using Google Docs.

Over on the Google Plus account ‘Google Drive’ there is a little more information, which also contains a link to the full details. Editing Office files in Gmail is a lot easier now.

Other than Office quick editing there will be support for 15 new Office types, and these include PPSX, PPS and macro-enabled files. You will have to run Google Chrome browser and this extension.
