Google is celebrating the daughter of Sigmund Freud the father of psychoanalysis, the latest Google Doodle celebrates Anna Freud’s 119th birthday.
The Anna Freud Google Doodle is rather simple but yet elegant enough to show that she was a pioneering lady of psychoanalysis.
She was the youngest child of Sigmund Freud who basically pioneered the field of child psychology. Today is the anniversary of her 119th birthday, and she was the only child of six to follow in her father’s footsteps. She was born in 1985 in Vienna and her life in psychology started at the young age of 13, and it was at this age she started to take an interest in her father’s psychoanalytic ideas weekly discussions. In her later years she become a founder of the field of child psychoanalysis.
During the 1938 Nazi occupation she and her family left Austria in fear of persecution, where they moved to London, UK. It is here Anna Freud created the Hampstead War Nurseries for children.
