YouTube and Yahoo Kyle and Stan ad attack

A researcher at Cisco’s Talos Security Research group has found a new malicious advertising network nicknamed the “Kyle and Stan”, where the malware is able to attack both Mac and Windows systems. Affecting sites such as YouTube and Yahoo.

Malvertising group Kyle and Stan aka kyle.mxp2038.com and stan.mxp2099.com, the report shows that getting ads onto online advertising with major distribution networks the attacker can get malicious content in front of large numbers of users.

The malware itself only relies on social engineering, where it gets the users to click on an ad. Once the ad is clicked this is when the software will send users off dependent on what sort of system the users is on, which is how it can affect both Windows and Mac systems.
