ISIS assassin threats towards Twitter employees

Twitter employees have been threatened by a Twitter account reportedly to be associated with ISIS, also known as the Islamic State.

The disturbing threats were issued via tweets on Monday, threatening to assassinate Twitter employees in San Francisco, this has prompted the social media network to close down any accounts associated with ISIS, as well as any post from the terrorist group.

Many videos and photos of executions were posted on Twitter, such as the beheading of Steven Sotloff and James Foley; Twitter rapidly took these down. Now they are cracking down on any ISIS associated accounts, once found they will be removed and banned.

The Twitter account @dawlamoon was suspended after it was apparently liked to Al Nusra Al Maqdisia according to Vocativ; there was never any real evidence of it having ties with ISIS.

The Islamic State death threats towards Twitter employees were tweeted in Arabic, but thanks to Mashable translating them the public learned what they meant. One said, “Every Twitter employee in San Francisco in the United States should bear in mind and watch over himself because on his doorstep there might be a lone wolf assassin waiting.”

All the tweets contained the hashtag, which when translated said, “the concept of lone wolf attacks.” A security team is investigating these threats against Twitter employees – Are you a Twitter employee who has been threatened by this group?
